Obama To Be First Guest on Letterman's New Netflix Talker

In what will be his first talk show since David Letterman stepped down as host of CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” in May 2015, the celebrated comedian will welcome former President Barack Obama as his first guest.

The hour-long show, appropriately titled “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman” is scheduled to air January 12 on Netflix.

In his new show format, Letterman will conduct long form conversations with single guests. George Clooney, Jay-Z, Tina Fey and Howard Stern are among other famous names slated to be on the show.

It is unclear what they will discuss, but the mere fact that Obama has been so reclusive and has granted very few interviews coupled with the return of Letterman to television is sure to make the show’s launch a big ratings winner.

Letterman announced he was resigning to spend time with his family. He has since remarked, “If you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first”.
