TV One Responds to Bobby Brown Lawsuit

TV One officials have released a statement in response to the million-dollar slander and libel lawsuit filed by R&B star, Bobby Brown, and say they are standing by their Bobby Kristina TV film biopic.

“We are aware of the reported legal challenge by Bobby Brown regarding the film Bobbi Kristina and are taking appropriate steps on behalf of our network to respond,” a statement from BET read. “While we are not able to address our legal response at this time, we stand by the film and its representation of this period in Bobbi Kristina’s life.”
Brown is seeking over $1 million in damages over his depiction in the film as abusive towards Whitney Houston and as a hard drug user. Brown is also taking issue with scenes in the film that portray him as unloving of his daughter.
Brown is suing to halt the release of the telepic TV One has scheduled to air on October 8.
