New Tyler Perry Talk Show Premieres On OWN

Categories // Entertainment Monday, 03 March 2014

The man of many merits, Tyler Perry continues to expand his exclusive partnership with Oprah Winfrey by ways of a new talk show—which marks his fifth original series with the OWN network. With details completely under wraps, “Tyler: The Tyler Perry Show” was only revealed a week ahead of the premiere on Feb. 25 via Perry’s Instagram account, which pictured him in front of an elaborate set, and a teaser video.

In the video Perry explains the new show is less talk show and more like a three-week event special.

“Right after the heart-stopping show tonight, I’m doing a very special Tyler Perry Show. There will be only three episodes of this for the next three weeks. I’ll be talking to the cast of ‘The Haves and the Have Nots’ as well as talking about my new movie, The Single Moms Club. I sure hope you are planning on hanging with me tonight to watch both. I can’t wait to hear from you. You know you’re the real critics.”

Tyler Perry’s OWN series include “Love Thy Neighbor,” “For Better or Worse” or “The Haves and the Have Nots,” which returned for its second season last month with a record-breaking 2.8 million viewers, and plans are underway for a series based on his motion picture “Single Moms Club,” in theaters this month.
