Move over Preachers of L.A. Make room for what some have dubbed as “gospel’s Brady Bunch” with the premiere next month of “Thicker Than Water”, Bravo’s entry into reality TV’s faith-based market.

The docu-series stars Nashville-based Gospel Jazz artist-turned-pastor Ben Tankard and his wife Jewel along with their blended and extended family as they live, love and laugh through the perils and pleasures of life, proving that blood is "Thicker Than Water."

Premiering Sunday, November 10 at 9pm ET/PT,

"Thicker Than Water" follows Ben, Jewel and their brood, self-dubbed "The Black Brady Bunch." This southern family integrates their strong religious conviction with their penchant for the finer things in life. Under the watchful eye of the patriarch and matriarch, the Tankard children, although young adults, still live at home and must abide by Ben and Jewel's rules. With the belief that

"God wants us all to be millionaires," the Tankards aim to be the best and brightest in everything they do. Along with their drive comes a healthy dose of rivalry, proving the adage "You can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family," especially true.

Tankard has recorded eighteen albums since making his gospel debut with the 1989 release of “All Keyed Up” and is credited with fueling the evolution of gospel jazz as well as helping to launch the career of Yolanda Adams after signing her to his independent record label. Along the way he has scored any number of Stellar, GMWA and Dove Awards and earned two Grammy nominations. The happily married father of five once hoped for a career in the NBA, but was sidetracked by an injury. In 1998, he answered the call to ministry and presently serves—with his wife, Jewel, as pastor of The Destiny Center.

In national church news, the recently established Global United Fellowship—which has in just two months grown to more than 80 local and international churches and fellowships—has unanimously elected Bishop Neil C. Ellis as its Presiding Bishop Designate.

A service of Episcopal Institution and Inauguration will be held on November 6, 2013 at The Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island with Archbishop J. Delano Ellis as Chief Celebrant and Archbishop Alfred Owens and Bishop Kenneth Ulmer as Con-Celebrants.

Notable pastors from around the country are speaking out and endorsing Global United Fellowship including Ulmer.

“Global United Fellowship is an end time manifestation of new wine in new wine skins. Bishop Neil Ellis brings a fresh anointing of creative leadership and spirit-filled discipleship development for such a time as this," said Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer, Presiding Bishop of Macedonia International Bible Fellowship and senior pastor of Faithful Central Bible Church.

Said Ellis, "After more than 30 years in ministry and serving in the pastorate for 26 years, I have made many observations about the Body of Christ. Some of these observations have helped in bringing focused attention to what I regard to be the driving force behind the work that has been assigned to our hands through the Global United Fellowship."

The five-fold mission of the Global United Fellowship is to unite; equip; enhance and strengthen marriages (particularly among the clergy); resurrect the dying discipline of prayer; and to build genuine fellowship in the Body of Christ across all denominations.
