Arsenio Hall Returning to Late Night TV
The 56-year-old comic and recent “Celebrity Apprentice” winner, Arsenio Hall, will attempt a major comeback with a nightly syndicated offering starting in September 2013.
Hall is partnering with syndicator CBS Television Distribution and Tribune Co., which will broadcast the 11 p.m. show from D.C. on its 17 TV stations, giving it instant access to more than half the country.
It’s familiar territory for Hall, who hosted “The Arsenio Hall Show” between 1989 and 1994 — on which, famously, then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton played “Heartbreak Hotel” on the sax — making it safe and hip for serious presidential contenders to make non-serious, image-honing appearances on talk shows in daytime, afternoon and late-night.
“It’s an amazing feeling to be going home to my old friends and colleagues and firing up our night thing,” Hall said in statement. “Let’s get busy … Again!”
