Gospel’s Leading Man Headlines Dr. Margaret Douroux’s Heritage Expo
L.A.’s own internationally acclaimed female composer of such gospel classics as “Give Me A Clean Heart” and “What Shall I Render,” Dr. Margaret Pleasant Douroux, will host the 28th Annual Heritage Music Foundation Gospel Music Conference and Expo June 26-29 in Los Angeles.
“This year we have the distinct honor of introducing Earnest Pugh (“Rain On Us”, “I Need Your Glory”—a new gospel star with an astonishing five-octave range, who is packing out churches and conferences in the eastern U.S.,” says Dr. Douroux. “Until now, ‘Gospel’s leading man’ has been virtually unknown in the West. We’re sure that as soon as L.A. audiences have seen him, he’ll be a huge favorite here.”
Gospel artists from around the nation will join with gospel music enthusiasts for the three-day confab featuring workshops, evening concerts and such gospel luminaries as Edna Tatum, Rev. Calvin Rhone and composer V. Michael McKay. The Friday night finale—featuring Pugh—will be emceed by KJLH radio host Kevin Nash. For more information, log onto www.hmfgospel.com.
