Girl’s Trip Star Tiffany Haddish Has Breakout Year
There’s no slowing down for Girl’s Trip breakout star Tiffany Haddish who will team with Tracy Morgan this fall for the new TBS series, “The Last O.G.”. She has just released her first comedy album entitled, “She’s Ready! From The Hood To Hollywood”
as well as a Showtime special and is presently performing her standup comedy act around the country. The 37-year old comedienne/ actress, who had a recurring role on The Carmichael Show (now cancelled), is in big demand since the release of “Girl’s Trip”, which has grossed more than $100 million. Talks of a sequel are already in the works. “The only thing harder than opening a studio comedy today is opening a studio comedy sequel,” producer Will Packer told Vulture. “That’s the next challenge. I love our team. If anybody can do it, we can do it. It’s still a little early — the movie is still in theaters — but it’s something we’ve all thought about.” In the meantime, Packer is prepping a film written by Kevin Hart, that will also star Haddish. (Imagine the two of them together). The film, “Night School”, follows a group of misfits who are forced to attend adult classes in the long-shot chance they’ll pass the GED exam. Haddish— who provide the voice of Tina the Brain Coral on Animal Planet’s “Animal Nation” —has also signed on to do Def Comedy Jam 25th anniversary special and has two additional film projects in the works.
