Beyoncé Tops Forbes Celebrity 100 List
The lyric “If you ain’t gettin money, then you ain’t got notin’ fo me” couldn’t be more of an ironic one-liner on Beyonce Knowles’ single titled “Diva” – considering the singer finally climbed to the No. 1 spot on Forbes Celebrity 100 list after rounding up an incredible year of touring with hubby Jay Z and releasing a groundbreaking surprise album.
The Queen B reportedly laughed all the way to the bank, cashing in an average $2.4 million per city, according to Pollstar. All this amid rumors of divorce swirling for months surrounding Mr. and Mrs. Carter, yet the “Drunk in Love” singer finished the year triumphantly with her single going platinum, selling more than 1 million copies.
The iconic pop star, who dropped her fifth studio album without any publicity, sold 828,773 albums in just the first three days.
Knowles, 33, has successfully built an empire, earning millions endorsing companies like H&M and Pepsi. To add to her list of accomplishments, several tabloids dubbed her the “fragrance mogul” after her “Heat” collection of signature scents was named the bestselling celebrity fragrance brand worldwide.
Her foray into the fashion industry include her clothing company House of Deron, an upscale brand sold in high-end stores, distributed mostly in Europe, and a partnership she recently signed with London-based label Topshop to create athletic street wear.
All in all, Knowles (who replaced last year’s winner, Oprah) has raked in $115 million in one year alone.
