Halle Berry Seeking Reduction In Child Support Payments To Ex
After a four-year long ugly custodial dispute that ended with a Los Angeles judge ordering Halle Berry to pay $16,000 a month in child support plus cover her ex-boyfriend's legal fees, which amounted to $300,000—the 47-year old actress recently filed legal documents asking the judge to significantly reduce her child support obligation.
Berry, who reportedly made approximately $4.7 million in 2013, said she would prefer to send $3,000 a month to her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, who according to court documents made about $192, 921 last year.
With child support payments that add up to $200,000 annually, Berry argues the father of their 6-year-old daughter, Nahla, is abusing the system because he
is solely depending on her monthly child support payments—and has ceased actively seeking employment—which is an alleged abuse of the system.
Under family law guidelines, Berry has been determined to be the primary breadwinner. She earns substantially more than her Aubry, a French-Canadian model.
Since their custody dispute came to an end in spring 2011, both parents have shared equal custody of Nahla while Berry now seeks to relocate Nahla to France.
