Quincy Jones Testifies Against Michael Jackson Estate

Quincy Jones took the stands and told jurors he was “cheated out of a lot of money” by Michael Jackson’s estate.

After Michael Jackson’s passing, his estate remixed an abundance of songs so they could cut the producer out of royalties earned on each song. Jones stated; “One example is, “This Is It,” My name is nowhere near that”. Jones said that he made less than $500,000 in royalties but the estate profited $90 million from the 2009 film. As a result of the lawsuit, Jones was awarded $9.4 million in royalties.
