Tracey Edmonds Lands Gig as “Extra” Co-Host
Co-star and executive producer of “Deion’s Family Playbook,” Tracey Edmonds was confirmed as the new co-host of “Extra.”
Edmonds and Charissa Thompson will replace Maria Menounos, who is heading to a bigger job at E! Network.
“Tracey Edmonds is one of the most accomplished television forces in Hollywood,” “Extra” Senior Executive Producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempset said. “She is already a star with A-list relationships. From the moment I put Tracey and Charissa on stage with Mario, their chemistry was off the charts.”

Aretha Franklin Biopic In Works
Lifetime Movie Network has been rumored to be making a biopic for the Queen of Soul—and Franklin has finally confirmed it.
“We’re very, very close to signatures on one agreement. It’s just a matter of our coming to terms and agreeing about what we’re doing to do.”
Franklin has expressed interest in having Halle Berry portray the “Respect” singer, but Audra McDonald and Jennifer Hudson are also in the mix.
“Audra’s got a great voice to work with, but she’s very Broadway oriented,” Franklin says, “but that doesn’t mean she cannot perform in the arena of soul, so that’s why I’m interested in hearing how she would sing my things. The singing is certainly going to be a very, very integral and important part of it.”
Franklin is fitting movie talks in between the rest of her bustling career, as she recently performed at the Ottawa Jazz Festival and will continue touring into September.
50 Cent Sells New TV Series to Comedy Central
Rapper and entrepreneur 50 Cent recently announced that he sold a show to Comedy Central.
"I bet a HATER will get tired of hating. Before I lose passion, I just sold another TV show, COMEDY CENTRAL #smsaudio #power," he Tweeted.
While few details have been released yet about the project, the Queens native is hardly new to the small screen. He has another show called “Power,” which airs on Starz TV starring Omari Hardwick as “Ghost,” a successful nightclub owner who is doubly involved in the dirty underworld of the drug trade.
“It was really interesting for me to see him take on the executive producer hat of a show like this. He had done producing before...but to see him be active and take my phone call on the dime...If I'd call and go, 'We really need you on the set today.' We have an incredible cast, so it wasn't just me, it would be me speaking for the cast and going, 'Folks need your energy today.' And he'd be down in like 30 minutes...He's great to work with."
