Jordan has amassed the kind of acting resume that would intimidate a great many veteran actors, from his roles in such critically acclaimed TV series as “The Wire”, “Friday Night Lights” and “Parenthood”, to his work in box office hits like “Red Tails”, “Fantastic Four” and the Oscar nominated “Fruitvale Station”. Last month, he added to that impressive list with the opening of “Creed” in which he stars as an up-and-coming fighter Adonis Creed, the son of world heavy weight champion Apollo Creed, who is trained by the legendary “Rocky” Balboa.

The beautiful and talented Margaret ‘Shug’ Avery began acting in TV and stage plays in in the 70’s, winning The Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for “Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie” in 1973. Avery’s film career began taking off with the popular “blaxploitation” films “Cool Breeze” and “Hell Up In Harlem”, but she is famously known for her role as Shug Avery in the classic film “The Color Purple”. The Mangum, Oklahoma native currently co-stars alongside Gabrielle Union and Richard Roundtree on BET's #1 Hit Drama 'Being Mary Jane' as family matriarch and Lupus victim, Helen Patterson. With a career spanning four decades, the singer/actress shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

The 31-year-old went on to star in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Hairspray,” for three years before starring in “Fame,” for which she sang the hit single, the short lived NBC show “The Playboy Club” and Lifetime’s “The Client List” opposite Loretta Devine and Jennifer Love Hewitt. These days Naughton stars as a New York gangster’s wife in “Power,” the highest rated show on Starz.

One On One: JADA PINKETT-SMITH

Recognized for playing strong women on both TV and film, 43-year-old actress Jada Pinkett-Smith has also established somewhat of a reputation for her inspiring social media posts and philanthropy. The Baltimore, Maryland native and wife of Will Smith broke into the business in 1990 when she starred in an episode of “True Colors.” She went on to co-star with Eddie Murphy in “The Nutty Professor,” appeared in “Set It Off,” “Scream 2,” Spike Lee's “Bamboozled,” “Ali” but is best known for playing human rebel Niobe in the films “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions.” In 2009, she returned to TV to star and produce the TNT drama “Hawthorne” and recently played Fish Mooney Fox's crime drama “Gotham.” This month, the mother of two is co-starring in “Magic Mike XXL.”
